Kartonpulp 2-D

Nature skins The material used by making the skins are mainly cardboard pulp and natural materials, such as moss, sand, grass, twiggs. During the drying process, which can be several months, the cardboard pulp cracks and grooves. I use layer over layer. At the end it gives them a look of plowed feelds, or raw earth. The colours I aply with acryl paint, sometimes with colour pigments.

Werken met kartonpulp is fysiek bezig zijn. Werken met materie. Karton, van hout afkomstig, is een natuurlijk materiaal. Ik bouw een werk op laag over laag, met kartonpulp, gips, polykit, in combinatie met natuurlijke materialen zoals gras, mos, schors, takjes, zand. Ik laat de natuurlijke kartonkleur en voeg kleurpigment, inkt en/of acrylverf toe. Ik kan het als drager voor een tekening of schilderij gebruiken maar het kan ook een  een op zichzelf staand vel worden, een stuk van aarde, een 'aardvel'.
